Hi, this is Marilyn. I‘m a nurse and a wellness coach, with a specialty in nutrition.
Today I’d like to talk to you about the “wheel of life” and the “total wellness” team approach to balance your life, between primary foods and the enhancement of secondary foods.
Now, what are the primary foods? The 4 core primary foods are: exercise, spirituality, career and economics, and relationships. When these are not balanced, we are not balanced.
What we eat is secondary, the secondary foods. It doesn’t matter what foods, like kale, that we eat, if the rest of our life is not balanced. When you have healthy relationships, regular physical exercise, a fulfilling career with good economics, a spiritual practice, then your soul is filled and your hunger for food is satisfied.
Like I said, secondary foods are what you put in your mouth. There are many theories out there, with as many books as you can imagine out there in the library. You must study “bio-individuality” which is what we need to take into our body. This premise is that we look at you as an individual person in many make-ups. These include: genetics, childhood influences, environmental influences, likes, dislikes, habits of eating – what makes a difference in your life.
