Inflammation

Hi, it's Marilyn Fuller, nurse and life coach.

I'm going to talk to you about Inflammation, and that leads to chronic illness.

According to Dr Barry Sears, who wrote "The Wellness Zone", inflammation leads to chronic illness.

So, disease comes in 3 stages: first you have wellness, then you have cellular inflammation, and then you get chronic disease.

So he says: by increasing Omega 3 fatty acids, decreasing carbohydrates (those are the bad carbohydrates), increasing polyphenyls, in your dietary consumption, the body's good act of any initial inflammation will be resolved and not become chronic.

Now what are polyphenyls? Well, those are like the berries, those are antioxidants that people always talk about. Antioxidants, and you need them because when you go outside, you get bombarded by whatever's in the sky coming at you.

So chronic illness comes from stress, lack of sleep, increased cortisol levels, increased omega 6 fatty acids, and increased carbohydrates. (Those that are found often from fast foods at the gas station, snacks, processed foods. I'm not talking about the good carbohydrates.)

But the bad carbohydrates lead to chronic illness such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's, allergies, asthma, and all the words ending in ITIS: the "itises".

You may want to try the Zone diet, which addresses nutrition, and inflammation that causes weight gain and decreased metabolism, along with disease processes.

Remember each body is an individual, and you have to respect that, and listen to your body. You're all individuals. Biodiversity and individuality of each person is a key element. So you need to try and knock out some of the toxic elements that you consume and crowd in the better ones.

Go to yoga. Reduce your need to consume those French fries.

Because you do have a precious body and it serves you well, so let's keep it well.

Take care. Talk to you again!
