I’m being serenaded

The sounds of summer
The warm weather is here
And I am up in New Preston
I was just leaving a great event with friends and I said
Listen, listen to this
Wow you can be entertained anytime during the day by nature
You just walk out and there it is
I love the sound of the serenade
Encore, encore
There is all kinds of music out there
But the music of these peepers, frogs and nature

When I was a child, my father told me, I don’t know if it was in grade school, or high school, he said, “Son, never cheat. Again, you shouldn’t cheat in school. I know, I’ve seen people do it, and they do it in college.
But if you start cheating, later you could cheat on your wife, your family, your children, your friends, your boss, your coworkers, your customers, or business associates – where does it end?”

Dogs before the 19th century were largely functional, such as hunting, guard, and watch dogs. The Oxford Dictionary, in the oldest quotes in the oldest Proverbs and phrases, dogs were rarely depicted as faithful or as man’s best friend, but as vicious and aggressive hunting dogs.

This is the story of how I learned about Dr. Albert Schweitzer, who had a jungle hospital in Equatorial Africa. The reverence for life for all animals, he created this idea when he was in Africa in 1913, when he first went to the hospital in the jungle.

The reverence for life came to me when my mother passed away. I was stationed in Germany. I came home to New York, and my father said, “I want you to meet this woman”. She was a Jewish refugee from Vienna. She won the 1958 Oscar for a documentary on Albert Schweitzer, who I’d heard of.

Hello folks, I’d like to tell you a story about my granddaughter, my seven-year-old granddaughter.

I asked her, “You ever see the movie Forest Gump?”

And she said, “Yes Opa.”

And I said, “What scene do you remember and like the most in the movie?”

Hello everybody. This is something that I think everybody knows is a problem.

When you have your grandchildren come over and visit, before they really start wanting to play, or talk and say what they’ve been doing, they like to get on their devices.

Now, I have a 13 year old granddaughter. She’s a real techie. She knows a lot more than her old grandfather. We’re guilty too, so maybe we should set an example, you know, Facebook and Wikipedia and internet and emails. I mean everybody is always doing things. But you have to set that aside.

My friends and I are taking a group trip to Cape Cod in August
We are really looking forward it talking it up about things we can do
I mentioned I found the game Trivial Pursuit for Boomers
My friend sandy says
I love the game Balderdash
I’d like to play that as well when we are up at Cape Cod
Well that would be fun sounds like a great plan

Can you manifest sunshine?
That’s the test I would all like you to take
On the next rainy prediction , grey cloudy day
When you have a wonderful
activity planned for yourself the following day
Now my friend Sandy and a group of us were going to
the beach to Long Beach, Startford Ct
We were having a picnic and going in the month of April
Of course April showers bring May flowers
And we decided to just hang out at the beach and share
food fellowship and have a good time they predicted rain

Oh I could walk 10,000 miles
Maybe your heard that song
Today I am walking to see 10,000 plus daffodils
On Wigawam Road in Litchfield, CT
And its Laurel Ridge Farm
And it was what was an unusable piece of farm land
That these private land owners decided what could they do with it
They decided to plant daffodils
They are also deer resistant
Which is great hear in the north east
For your flower and veggie garden
It has been raining a lot
And it is a really sunshiny day
I am staying up in Goshen

I am out driving in my Ford Explorer
My big SUV
On this rainy day
It is raining a lot
It is warm and mild it is in the 60’s in Goshen, Ct
I just went by this awesome farmland and barn
Just so pretty around here
I saw this muddy, muddy field and
I saw this cow just tip toe out like a ballerina
To put his hoof out
To see if he was going to step out into this muddy, muddy field
He was so coated with mud
Like he was getting a mud facial
Like a mud cow-a-thon
I don’t know what you would call it
