Improve your Memory

I read an article recently that said for the Baby Boomer generation, one out of eight will end up with Alzheimer’s.

Now, I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but I do know that I know a few friends whose parents have Alzheimer’s, which means they have no memory of certain events, and it’s greatly affected their life.

So how can we work on improving our memory, that’s easy and simple, and doesn’t take any extra effort from you?

I'm Always Receiving

I was thinking in my life I wasn’t receiving things.

And I felt stuck.

And one day, a good friend of mine called me on the phone, and as we were talking, she said, “You’re not stuck. Try this. It worked for me, and I think it will work for you too. Try saying, ‘I am always receiving.’” I thought about it, and said, “What the heck, I’ll try it and see if it works.”

So the very next day when I woke up, the very first thing I said was, “I’m always receiving.”

I Talk to Plants

I talk to plants. I mean, I don’t do this every day, but I have talked with some plants. I read how to do this in a book, The Secret Teachings of Plants, and I decided to try it myself.

I move my awareness to the middle of my chest. It’s usually in the middle of my head. I see it like a ball of white light moving from my head to my heart. I close my eyes, and tell the plant, “I want to speak with you and learn from you.” It also helps if I imagine myself filling the plant – into its leaves, into its branches, into its trunk, into its roots.

I See What I Need To See

I am always talking with God.
Sometimes I say, “Please show me what I need to see.”
I become a little more alert, and yet relaxed at the same time - .attentive and expectant. Perhaps there’s a symbol or message in the dirt on the side of the road. Once I saw what looked like writing in the sand. I know it was a message.
Perhaps there is a word or important number on a marker plate on a car nearby. In fact, I did this once, and within 45 seconds, a car drove by with the words “Spirit Speak” on its front marker plate.

I See Light in Me

I see light in me.

I see my cells glowing.
I see a spark in every cell.
I light the candle inside of me.
I will it so, strongly.

It is my thought that I am a piece of God.
A piece of the Creation, if you prefer.
I sense a calm come over me.

Every cell knows each other, like drops in the ocean, and stars in the sky.
Each of my trillions of cells hear me when I speak, when I think.
They are always listening.

I Saw an Angel

I saw an angel. Actually, I saw one, then a second, and then a third. The first was a young adult about 14 years old. The angel wore a white gown or robe. It looked like linen.

Upon the robe was exquisite and unusual golden trim and gold embroidery. It seemed as though the gold was alive, as if it were the energy identity and the “life” of the angel – its core essence.

The gold “writing” sparkled, too. The angel moved but was completely silent. It had no wings.

I Open to the Greater Mind

I open to the Greater Mind.

I’ve been told there is a place like this.
As the discoverer that I am,
I discover that it is really there.

Let me explore new ideas, beyond what I have ever known.
Let the ocean of my consciousness multiply over and over again.
I am ready for greater thoughts.

Just for a while, I drop my old beliefs.
I invite new ideas, wildly creative, to surprise me.
Let me grasp the greatness of what is out there.

I Like Quiet Time

I like the quiet times.

When there is a lull in the day.

And the hectic pace stops.

I like the clock that I can hear tick-tock. It beats at one herz – what an interesting number – one cycle per second, the rate of a heart beating.

I like to take a walk, with no thoughts, no agenda, nothing to solve.

I like to stare out into space and see what appears.

I am open and willing to receive.

I see the morning dew on the grass, sparkling and twinkling, and find it hard to look away.

I like the quiet time smelling hot apple pie baking.

I Have Another Day - Now What

I got up this morning. I looked out my window. It’s raining, gray, chilly - a little cold out there.

But man, am I glad to be up. I’ve been given another day - another day.

My friend George will always say to me, “Hey, how are you doing.”

And I’ll say, “Good, how are you.”

And he’ll say, “Great. I got up. I got another day.”

Today on my schedule, things are a bit all over the place.
I’m going to be going here, and I’m going to be going there.

I Feel Younger

I feel younger.
I am ageless.
How delicious.
I feel how it feels to be ageless.

I am lifted out of time.
I erase my age.
I look better and better each day.
I feel better and better each day.

The power that created this body can hold this body ageless,
Can repair this body,
Can rejuvenate this body.
A quiet presence sweeps away the dust.

Angels breathe upon me.
I remember the childlike wonder of new discovery,
Realizing I actually can be ageless.
