How Now Peace - Opening a Door for the Oppressed

Suppose our thoughts can help make peace on earth, in your lifetime, starting right now – the end of violence – the end of the barbaric age.

Consider the people being oppressed.

I picture them wandering now in a grove of trees, tall and pungent, with the ground moist and soft. I picture them happily stepping on stones to cross a brook, trickling, soothing.

I picture them walking thru an open meadow of tall grasses with a sun umbrella, sparrows appearing and disappearing.

How Long Can You Smile?

How long can you smile?

Can you consciously keep a smile for a day? for an hour? for 3 minutes?

I’ve tried this, and it does take effort.

Even consciously returning a gaze with a smile.

There are those rare people who always seem to have a smile – they actually always seem happy.

At the supermarket, anywhere where there are strangers, it is kind of fun and interesting to hunt for visually happy people.

How about mooing it?

I am out driving in my Ford Explorer
My big SUV
On this rainy day
It is raining a lot
It is warm and mild it is in the 60’s in Goshen, Ct
I just went by this awesome farmland and barn
Just so pretty around here
I saw this muddy, muddy field and
I saw this cow just tip toe out like a ballerina
To put his hoof out
To see if he was going to step out into this muddy, muddy field
He was so coated with mud
Like he was getting a mud facial
Like a mud cow-a-thon
I don’t know what you would call it
I thought of life

Hot Dog!

I’m in Detroit
And I just want to talk about a synchronistic moment that I call
Whether it’s Coincidence
I think everything is so universally planned out for us at times
Before leaving to go to the famous Cooney Island hot dogs that are made in Dearborn
I was being a real tourist wanting to hit that spot
As I was getting dressed I did not want to wear white
Cause I thought I am going to have a messy chili dog
A Cooney Island chill dog, I am going to splatter that all over myself
So I wore a top that could conceal having food getting on you

Horse Skunk Help

My horse had her own kitten. The kitten was black and white. Her name was Megan. I only called her Megan when I was mad at her. I used to call her Morgan Mule. I called her Meg for short.

She had her own black and white kitten, and she got skunked. She must have thought it was her kitten.

She was running to me, because I had whistled for her. And she stopped dead in her tracks and wouldn’t move.

I walked down. I thought something had happened. And then I smelled her.

Honoring the Good Past

There’s something about a very old photograph that really draws me in. Perhaps it’s the black and white monochrome world that looks oddly “at a distance” – as if that’s the best that could be done at that time – almost like a dream.

I like to see how people are dressed and I try to sense how it felt to be in that place at that time. Did the air feel different?

Hold Your Tongue

My mom would say to us when we were little, “If you don’t have something nice to say, say nothing at all.”

You ever notice in life, when you get in conversations with people in your family or good friends, that something will be said that’s hurtful or insensitive? Immediately, the natural thing to do is to respond, to react to what was said, and come back and protect yourself. And it’s said in the way of an attack.

History

The advent of historically-themed movies and TV shows has given interest in history a tremendous boost. There are no significant historical events that have not been the subject of at least one movie. The drawback is that not every movie is historically accurate - Hollywood portrays versions of the facts that bring in the most profits, not necessarily those that are true to life.

Heaven - where do you go?

Sometimes it is so hard to believe
There will be I time I am not going to be here on planet earth
There will be a time I’ll expire my life will come to an end
Then I will begin a new beginning in Heaven
I believe in God
The afterlife
That we do go on
Sometimes I get so distracted by today
Not really realizing I am here for a limited amount of time
Even if I live to 150
There is a time I will not be here
That takes a lot of mindfulness for me
To hold on to that
I really want to hold on to that
To embrace that time

Healing Sounds of Music

Musical beginning of Claire de Lune performed by and courtesy of Amber Short - https://www.ambershort.us/media/music/piano/Claire_de_Lune.wav

I’ve found that “Claire de Lune” has a very healing sound. I use muscle testing, also known as kinesiology, to test on a scale of 1 to 10 the power of healing for a particular piece of music.

The instrument doesn’t matter. It is the underlying music that presents this healing quality.
